Finding my Language
This 2011 show was based on work I made during 2010 and 2011, ‘finding my language’
I am a landslide waiting to fall

Anni Albers (1899-1994), a German-American textile artist and printmaker, wrote in 1982 about choice of materials:
“Something speaks to us, a sound, a touch, hardness or softness, it catches us and asks to be formed. We are finding our language, and as we go along we learn to obey their rules and their limits… the more subtly we are tuned to our medium, the more inventive our actions will become. Not listening to it ends in failure … material is a means of communication. The listening to it, not dominating it, makes us truly active, that is: to be active, be passive. The finer tuned we are to it, the closer we come to art.”
Are you the one that I’ve been waiting for?
